Easter Seals Alberta

Easter Seals Alberta is a non-profit organization that is devoted to helping children and adults with special needs, serious illness and developmental physical disabilities. This non-profit organization also runs Camp Horizon, which is dedicated to using outdoor pursuit activities to empower children and adults alike. This camp has programs that cater to children with diabetes, kidney impairments, and children with cancer. These kids have a lot going on in their lives and this camp uses recreation to help them enjoy the simple things.
Easter Seals Alberta raises eighty percent of their funds though the support of events, donations, fundraisers, and campaigns. One of their events that may be familiar is The Drop Zone. In this event participants repel down a building to raise money. Sounds scary, but it is really just a small price to pay to help someone in need. This organization is really amazing because they don’t just raise funds and direct all proceeds to research. Instead they use it to empower those who are suffering by providing them with an adventure free from hospitals and boundaries. If science can’t find a cure, Camp Horizon can.
